Cyclachaena xanthifolia (Marshelder) Family: Asteraceae (Sunflower)
     
Marshelder is a weedy looking plant that can grow over 6 feet tall. When not flowering, it looks like a sunflower from a distance. Leaves are large and palmately lobed. Plants produce only disk flowers, which hang down panicles of small heads. The inflorescence is similar to those on ragweeds or sages.
