Machaeranthera tanacetifolia is a purple daisy growing on sandy or rocky sites on the plains and southwest counties. Look for pinnately divided leaves with toothed lobes.

Compare to Machaeranthera bigelovii and Machaeranthera canescens, which lack the pinnately divided leaves.
