Opuntia macrorhiza (Bigroot Pricklypear Cactus)

Opuntia macrorhiza has similar flowers and is easy to confuse with Opuntia polyacantha.   O. macrorhiza usually has larger pads and longer spines than O. polyacantha. Spines are reduced or absent toward the bottom of the pads. Pads often have horizontal wrinkles.
