Senecio vulgaris (Common Groundsel)

Senecio vulgaris lacks ray flowers, having only disk flowers. This gives the flower heads a "closed" appearance. The black tips on the lower bracts are diagnostic of the species. Common Groundsel is a weed of disturbed areas.
